Late last night I was reading a research book I’d just discovered and downloaded, yawning, yet engrossed in the gripping true story. Finally I decided to put the iPad away and go to sleep, but first, I absently clicked on my email, and noticed a new one from the coordinator of the Golden Quill contest, which I’d entered months ago. She was writing to tell me TEMPTATION was a finalist in their Best First Book category!
Once again, I got this good news when no one was awake to share it with, not even the dog. I went to sleep with a smile on my face, though.
The winners will be announced in July, but frankly, to paraphrase many an Oscar night speech, it’s an honor just to be nominated.
