Temptation arrived on Monday, and it’s been a whirlwind around here ever since. Seeing your book up on Amazon and Barnes and Noble, and now Kobo, is very exciting. It’s the real deal. I can now say I’m a published author.

Whew! It was a long road to publication, with lots of potholes and missed turns. But seeing that link for the first time, downloading my book and seeing my words in print…that was worth all the bits of asphalt in my knees.

There’s more: The publicists at Entangled have been doing a bang up job getting my name out there this week. It started with this piece at USA Today’s HEA blog, which featured me and some other authors talking about the Hollywood rom-com convention of the “meet-cute”. And today a Q&A is up at Entangled’s blog.

Reviews have trickled in, too. I liked this one at The Reading Room:

Temptation is truly a different type of romance and Amish book. I applaud Ms. Barrett for writing it.

I’ll confess; I wondered if anyone would appreciate the license I took with conventional romance and especially traditional Amish romance—Temptation is definitely not an Amish romance; instead it’s a romance set in Amish country.

It was fun to write, wrenching at times to edit, and now that the hard work is done, I’m just enjoying the ride.

Oh, and writing the next one of course.
